The year is coming to an end.  Hope 2012 was good to all of you.   My year was filled with ups and downs.

The Jersey Shore

This year has brought us lots of us and downs.    The worst tragedy we saw here on the East Coast was Hurricane Sandy and the aftermath of the storm.   The Jersey Shore will take a while to rebuild.   I am happy that I was able to scrap one of my favorite memories this year down to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.     No matter the season, I love the Jersey Shore.  I am a Jersey girl at heart.    I used this week's Scrapbook News & Review amazing sketch for the scrapbook page. 

Most of the products are not SU, I believe the only thing that was the 1 3/4" circle punch, Perfect Pennants Punch, Tasteful Trim Sizzex and black cardstock.

 

 

Baby It's Cold Outside

Stampin Royalty Sketch Challenge

This week Stamping Royalty brings us a sketch challenge.   As always I took the sketch and changed it up and made it mine.   Here I put the sketch on it's side.   I also took playing with scraps to another level.   You may recognize too really old paper scraps in this week's project, Summer Picnic and Petals & Paisleys.    My tip of the week, are you tired of white pearls and metallic rhinestones?   Just add a little bit of color with your Sharpie markers.   It just takes seconds to do and they dry so quickly.

Last Minute Money Holder

Can you believe Christmas Eve is here!  Not sure what to get for that last minute gift, look no further.    Here is a quick and easy money holder.    Just fold a piece of card stock, embellish it and attach sticky strip on the sides for the pocket and you are on your way.

I decided to pull out the retired Forest Lodge designer series paper for this week's Inkredible color challenge.   The colors in the paper series work perfectly with the this week's colors:  Early Espresso, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler.

Let it Snow

So here is my absolutely adorable niece, I still can't believe she was so small so many moons ago.   Now she is 7.    I just love this picture of her and it works so great with all the fun papers and embellishments I bought from a kit in the store.    The page came from this great sketch on Scrapbook News and Review.

So here is my Christmas card all in white with a touch of gold.    I really like the classic look of the card.    Who knew such a simple card to make, but such a wow factor.

Make Your Own Chevrons

So as you probably seen, chevrons are in and they are everywhere.   What better than to find a way to make your own.   I especially can't wait to use this technique on a scrapbook page.    All you need to do is use your square punch and then cut diagonally and then start arranging them.   I was totally inspired by a card I saw in Paper Crafts.   Click here to see my inspiration.

This week Stamping Royalty brings us a color challenge.   The colors are:  Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit and Lucky Limeade.    This time of year I usually would have made a Christmas card with these colors, but the I really wanted to try my hand on the chevron look.   I am glad I die, now I have this great graphic manly card for a future birthday card.

Inkredible Color Challenge

What can I say I am loving the chevron look in all my cards lately.    Here I used them in this week's Inkredible color challenge.   The colors this week are:   Old Olive, Riding Hood Red and Marina Mist.  I recently just got a whole stash of new things to play with so I decided to use in this week's color challenge.   So you will see most of the prodcuts are not SU, but the ones that are the ink in these week's colors and the Eyelet Border Punch

4 Season Christmas Cards

 

The challenge is to take the 4 seasons and spin them into 4 different Christmas cards by changing the color palettes.  Pastel for Spring  - Bright for Summer - Warm for Fall - Cool for Winter 

 

So here are my diecuts and chevrons with differnt color palettes for the holidays.   Most of the products are not SU, but the ink colors are not, so I will share them with you.

 

Spring:  Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery

Summer:   Real Red and Old Olive

Fall:  Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke

Winter:  Bashful Blue and Marina Mist

Remembering Clarence Clemons

This was a page to dedicate to the amazing saxaphone player, Clarence Clemons from the Bruce Springsteen E-Street Band. During the 2012 concert tour a tribute in picture slide show was done to remember the legendary player.

The sound of the saxaphone in a Bruce tune will forever remind me of the Big Man.

My inspiration came from this week's Scrapbook News & Review sketch challenge.   I love how the page came together.

I didn't have rhinestones that coordinated my page, so I took my Sharpie marker anc colored in the rhinestones. The sax was die cut and then my colored rhinestones outlined the sax.

Just a side note, all of the products used in today's project are not SU.

Inkredible Color Challenge

So as promised yesterday, here is the inspiration for the make my own designer series paper.    The color challenge for Inkredibles is:   Cherry Cobble, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.    Let's just say I read the color combo.   It registerd in my head, but then when I started adhering card stock, my fingers took over and I ended up using Real Red and Old Olive instead of Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade.   Let's just say the patterned paper was made and then I realized I used the wrong colors.    Let's just say I wasn't starting from stratch and making new paper, I was already too invested in the colors I choose!

Christmas and Winter Theme

So this week Stamping Royalty brings us a Christmas and Winter theme.  I decided to make my own designer series paper by cutting strips of paper.    Stay tuned tomorrow for the color challenge that inspired do it yourself patterned paper.   Since I had made the paper for one challenge I ended up using it for two.    I saw this great snowman cut out on Pinterest and knew I had to make my own.   So easy to do, just take circle tape them down and use them as a pattern for the snowman outline.   I think I first used one of the containers from SU, then I used 1 3/4" Circle and 1 3/8" Circle.   For the banner, I die cut an Itty Bitty Banner and then used it as pattern to make a larger one for myself since the sentiment from the Best Wishes & More set just barely fit in the original die cut.

I have to say I am loving the double scallop circles layered on this card.   I have a feeling I will be doing it again in the near future.   One of my favorite parts of the card is the pairing up of the Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade colors.

Holly Jolly Christmas

Have a holly jolly Christmas, it's the best time of the year.   Yes, it is one of my favorite Christmas songs and I am sure you are singing in her head it will be there for the rest of the day.    Here is my niece and nephew on one of their first Christmas together.   I can't believe how small they are!   I found this 5x7 and couldn't wait to scrap it.   It was perfect for this weeks Scrapbook News and Reviews sketch.    Most of the products are not SU, but hopefully this will inspire you to start scrapbooking of course after your holiday cards are done! 

Dreaming of a White Christmas

So I don't know if I am dreaming of a white christmas, but I am sure snowman around the world are.   I can't say I have anything against snow, but living in New Jersey we are bound to have a few snow storms and I have to say it's not my favorite part of living in the state.    This week's Inkredible color challenge is:   Real Red, Certainly Celery and Old Olive.    One of my most favorite things to do is making my own designer series paper by cutting strips of paper.   Super easy to do and it coordinates perfectly for the challenge.

Stamping Royalty Photo Inspiration

As soon as I saw this week's Stamping Royalty photo inspiration, I just knew my project would have gold stars and the word Believe from the retired Hope Is stamp set.    The whole project kinda reminds me of the Macy's Holiday Advertising.    I have to say the thing I am most impressed about is my homemade star and banner!  All free form cutting.
