Sisters Scrapbook Page

Here is a scrapbook page with me, my sister and my sister-in-law. I really love the way this picture came out of the three of us.

Here's the ingredients to make the page:
Stamp Sets: Lovely Letters Alphabet, Kind & Caring Thoughts
Ink: Riding Hood Red (retired), Old Olive and Real Red Stampin' Write Marker
Paper: Riding Hood Red (retired), Bella Rose Designer Series Paper (retired) and Whisper White
Accessories: Halfback Pearls from the Pretties Kit
Tools: 1 1/4" Square Punch

Special touches on the page:
Since we do not have Stampin' Write Markers for last year's In Colors, I stamped part of the rose in my stamp pad and then with a q-tip cleaned off the excess ink and the used my Stampin' Write Marker to color in the stem. I stamped the title Sisters and then punched each letter out and attached them to a strip of Riding Hood Red.

Mojo Monday #97

Here's this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I have to say the Thoroughly Modern designer series paper is one of my favorites especially this one with the white dasies on it. The daisy is one of my favorite flowers.

Here are the ingredients to make my daisy card:
Stamp Sets: Wings of Friendship
Ink: Sahara Sand
Paper: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper
Accessories: 5/8" Jumbo Brads, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, On Board Long Board, Stampin' Dimensionals
Tools: Circle Scissor Plus, Big Shot, Crafter's Tool Kit, Flower Layers with Leaf Sizzex, Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Special Touches on the card: The embossed image on the back of the card, I flipped it over so it had the indented impression and not the raised. I applied white card stock onto the chipboard and ran it through the big Shop to give the flower dimension. I also adhered the flower to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Scallop Big Card made with New Products

I have two good friends who I just found are pregnant. So here's the card I made for the two of them, a scallop card made with all new products from 90-10 Idea Book.

Here are the ingredients to make the card:
Stamp Sets: Nursery Necessities, Look Who's Turning
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Paper: Cottage Wall and Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper, Old Olive and Whisper White
Accessories: Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Big Shot, Scallop Circle Sizzex, Clear Circle Sizzex, Ovals Sizzex, Heart to Heart Punch, Coluzzle Cutting System, Crop-a-dile

Special Touches on the Card: I kept looking at the card and thinking something wasn't quite right. So I kept adding dimensionals to everything, I cut out the hippo and still it didn't look right, then it finally dawned on me I forgot to make an opening for the bib! So I pulled out my coluzzle cutting system to make the big opening. I attached the ribbon for the bib, by making two holes on the inside of the card and then threading the ribbon and tieing knots to the back of the card. I also added a heart to the inside of the bow I tied and added to the card.

Rainbow Card

I have to say I really loved this month's' kwernerdesign.com color challenge: Whisper White, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Ballet Blue. I decided to make another card. The colors reminded me of a rainbow. There was a card a few months back in Paper Crafts that showed a rainbow card and I remembered reading how they made the rainbow with the Coluzzle. How easy is that. So here's my card.

Then with the Clear Circle Sizzex, I was able to see what I wanted in the circle and then cut out the image in the circle shape with the Sizzex. I made a tailored bowon the side of the tag. The Heart came from the Heart to Heart punch. To get the color on the beaks of the birds, I first stamped the image in Summer Sun, then with a q-tip, I cleaned off the beaks off of the birds. Next I took out my Stampin' Write Marker to color in the beak, then I finally stamped the image.

Playing with New Things!

Well I finally had a chance to escape a few minutes yesterday to go to my stamping studio and scrap. Not an easy feat with 2 little ones around. My niece and nephew have been spending the weekend with me. I have a lot of respect for mom's everywhere that find time to do things for themselves. So here is this week's color challenge: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Certainly Celery. I tried to find a piece of Certainly Celery in the new designer paper but could not find a sheet, so I decided to go with the Old Olive from the Cottage Wall designer line. So in honor of mommies everywhere, here's my scrap page wtih my nephew and my sister-in-law.

Busy Day

I had a really busy day. I got my big Stampin' Up! order yesterday from the new 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalog. I first started with die cutting all my new Sizzex and making great new charts so you can see them first hand. I also made a comparison chart with all the Alphabets so you can see how they all measure up. You can see all of those below.

After that I had to make room for all my new Sizzex, so I cleaned out a bookshelf and made it my Sizzex station. I moved all my scraps to the bookcase at well so they will all be within reach when I go to work with my Big Shot.

I also got a visit from Colleen and her little guy Daniel. My niece is staying over so she and little Daniel got to play together. Here with my decorative scissors they took their hand on cutting up scraps! So if I didn't have enough work organizing, I went running around cleaning up scraps. All worth to see those two having a great time playing together!

Happy Fourth of July

I have to say I am missing being down the shore this Fourth of July. Every year I spend it with my best friend and her family down in LBI. Here is a picture from last year where all the boys are wearing their red, white and blue flag shirts. The background is night of navy and kraft craft card stock paired up with Riding Hood Red Patterns Designer Series Paper. The title was stamped in the Taffy alphabet. The large night of navy chipboard star was die cut with an old Sizzex die. The medium star was first stamped made by stamping the image from the Outlaw stamp set and then punched with our large star punch. The little star I punched and put a vintage brad through the center. Both the medium and little stars were attached with dimensionals. Next came the twill tape that attached to the page and then attached three pewter eyelets with my crop-a-dile. Some finishing touches were the urban west rubons, one on the top of the page, the 2nd one in a hodgepodge hardware frame. Then I stamped three accents on the bottom of the craft with the Outlaw stamp set. The very last things was the photo frame that I paper pierced and the journaling done with my white gel pen. Happy 4th!

Inkredible Color Challenge for the Week

Here is this week's color challenge: Cameo Coral, Ruby Red and Sahara Sand. These colors just screamed a beach scene for me. So here I pulled out a summer beach picture to crop. The background is the Cameo Coral texture paper. I cut the circle out with my Circle Cutter System. The chipboard On Board Timeless Type. I added some rhinestone brads around the center of the circle for a little bling. I then started with the flower which was a retired piece of chipboard I had followed by a Big Shot die cut of the Flower Layers with Leaf and then I punched out a 1 inch circle of the Walk in the Park designer series paper. The last touch for the flower was the clear button with a linen thread bow. The strips of paper come from the Walk in the Park and the To the Nines Speciality designer series paper. One strip of paper, I stamped the Kind & Caring Thoughts stamp in Ruby Red on a piece of Sahara Sand. The sides have a scallop border and a strip of Ruby Red. The last touch was Urban West rubon framed inside a Styled Silver hodgepodge.
