Twins are born

A good friend of mine had twins, a boy and a girl. I made these projects for a while ago for her and I am finally getting around to posting them. I have to say all the projects use a combination of so many retired products. I am just happy to have all these on hand since I it was really hard to come up with some thing for twins, nevermind a boy and a girl. So first came the background paper, the retired Spring Fling. Next came the greeting from the Think Big stamp set stamped in Sage Shadow. I then stamped the safety pins from the Mini Mates stamp set. It's a boy and It's a girl from from the So Many Saying stamp set. I punched them out with the square punches and layerd them onto Sage Shadow. The last touch was the strip of Sage Shadow and pretty in pink and bashful blue buttons.

I also made her a little brag book. I used my friend Colleen's Sizzex tag punch along with some Afternoon Tea paper, some chip board and some Soft Sky paper. The front I decorated with a Chipboard heart I made with her old Sizzex hearts and Pink Pirouette paper. I stamped the booties from the Buggies and Booties stamp set onto the heart as well as the greeting from the set. The finishing touches were the chocolate chip button and the Pink Pirouette ribbon I tied around the ring.

Then the greeting comes from the On Your Birthday stamp set. I then I loved that I was able to stamp the image and then with my clear Sizzex circle I was able to cut the image out just right to fit in the circle. I then layered it on top of the Old Olive Scallop Circle diecut. Next I made a scallop edge border on the bottom. I added the Good Morning Sunshine designer series paper. The Old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon and the retired buttons.

Mojo Monday Sketch

I decided to play and do the Mojo Monday Sketch. I have to say I am happy I did. I love the way this card came out. The two background designer series paper sets I used were the Bella Rose and the Kiwi Kiss Patterns packs. The stamped images came from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set and the A Little Somethin' stamp set. I colored in the images with my Stampin' Write Markers. The Thanks a Bunch I punched out with my 1 3/4" circle punch and then layered on a circle I cut out with my Circle Scissors Plus. To finish the card off, I added to two gold brads and a strip of Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon accross the middle and a bow tied and attached with a mini glue dot.

Color Challenge of the Week

Here is this week's color challenge: Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. It is a double page layout using photos of my nephew when he was first born along with my niece. As soon I saw all these pics, I knew the title I was going to put for it. The line from Casablanca, The beginning of a beautiful friendship. As you can see there are some colors not part of the challenge. After I laid out the page, I needed something to embellish it and yet I couldn't find anything that appealed to me in my stamp collection. I kept thinking I wanted a bear for the page. Well I dug into my sticker stash I bought at an EK Success sale a long time ago and found their Pooh bear stickers. How appropriate Pooh and Piglet. So other than the stickers the rest of the colors stick to the challenge. I diecut the title with my Naturally Serif Alphabet. I applied the letters to the page with my two way glue pen. Next came the designer paper bordered on the top and bottom of the photos. The Baja Breeze comes from the Pattern Pack and the Certainly Celery comes from a retired Prints paper pack. The bottom border I made a scallop border with my slit punch. The top of the border, I adhered a strip of wide grosgrain ribbon and added a tailored bow. The finishing touches were strips of chocolate chip on the sides of the pages and three courdory buttons.

Make sure to check out the following links for more ideas using the color combos of the week from our color girls: Colleen, Debbie, Lorraine, Kelly, Traci and Tracy.

Birthday Gift for My Brother

I just love this picture of my niece and nephew and I just knew I had to make something for my brother with it. So here I took a piece of the large chipboard coasters that I have from American Coasters. I adhered the Pacific Point card stock to it and then added the picture of my niece and nephew. The finishing touch on the right hand side was the photo corner punch. On the left hand side I took a piece of Pacific Point Patterns designer series paper and diecut the Sizzex Clear Circle. I diecut the star from an old Sizzex die cut. The #1 comes from the On Board Timeless Type Chipboard that I sponged Real Red craft ink on top. I then die cut the word kids from my Naturally Serif Sizzlets. The finishing touch on the right hand side was a Real Red button with linen thread. I joined the two sides by punching holes with my crop-a-dile and tieing a knot with the wide real red grosgrain ribbon. I loved the way it came out I made another one for my desk at work.
