Happy 95th

I can't believe it my grandfather just turned 95! Here is a tag I made for his birthday gift. It started with a sage shadow and To the Nines Speciality designer series paper circle I cut out with Sizzex Clear. Then another strip of the designer series paper was added in between the two layers. I then die cut with the 95 with the Cuttlekids Happy Numbers. I was so excited to see these numbers in the clearance rack in Michaels. I've been looking for numbers I could die cut and here they appeared on sale. The Cuttlekids works with the Big Shot you just need to use the Multipurpose Platform Book. Then I made the cupcake with using the little scallop from the Birds & Blossoms Sizzlets for the top of the cupcake. The candle comes from the Big Bold Birthday stamp set. I added the chocolate chip button as an accent. Next came the hole made with my crop-a-dile and the wide chocolate chip grosgrain bow. The last step was the greeting stamped from the Fundamental Phrases stamp set.

Manhattan Flower Impression Die in a Scrapbook Page

Here is a scrapbook page made with the Manhattan Flower Impression Die. I decided to cut the flower out and then it added to the border of my page. Here it is on a scrapbook page from photos of my brother on his wedding day. I die cut the title from the Serif Essentials Alphabet with my Big Shot. Strips of To the Nines Specialty Designer Series Paper and eyelet border in pretty in pink were added to the page. I stamped words from the Together Forever stamp set. Three Rhinetone brads were added to the page as embellishments. I have to say after I created the pages I realized the page on the left would be great to show a progression page from 8x8 to 8 1/2 x 11 to 12x12.

Manhattan Flower Textured Impression Die

I have to say I love the Manhattan Flower Textured Impression Die! All you do is put your piece of paper inside the folder and then run it through the Big Shot. Look at the beautiful embossed image that comes out. So simple, so elegant. The floral impression fits a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2 piece of card stock perfectly. Here I added an eyelet border punch and tied a piece of Kraft taffeta ribbon. I added three half back pearls and stamped the greeting from the Sincere Salutations stamp set. For $7.95, it is a great addition to you Big Shot collection.

This Week's Color Challenge.

Here's this week's color challenge. It features my little nephew. The colors are: Baha Breeze, Pacific Point and Pumpkin Pie. I love the saying in the Cute and Cuddly stamp set. I'm kind of a BIG deal, so I decided to make it the heading for this page. I stamped the title with my retired Whimsical Alphabet and then covered a chipboard parenthesis with Pumpkin Pie and added to the page. Next came the stamped images from the Nursery Necessities stamp set which I cut out and punched out and added to the page with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a scallop edge made with my scallop edge punch. The 12x12 Baja paper comes from the Manchester designer series paper. Lastly came pieces of Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware to finish the page.

I adhered the image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then used a strip of the To the Nines Speciality designer series paper. I made a eyelet border on the bottom. I then tied a grosgrain ribbon around the card. The last thing was the greeting from the On Your Birthday stamp set.

Dressing up a Sephora Bag

Here is a Sephora bag I got when I made a purchase at the store. I decided take the store bag and dress it up Stampin' Up! style. I took the Oval Scallop die cut and made the frame. Next I took my flower layers and leaf die cut and made the flowers. The patterned paper comes from the retired patterns paper pack from last catalog hostess benefits. I added a black button to the center. I popped the flower up with Stampin' Dimensionals. The greeting comes from the On Your Birthday stamp set. I covered up the Sephora with real red wide grosgrain ribbon. Everything was attached to the bag with Sticky Strip to ensure it didn't come off. The next time you make a purchase, see if you can dress up the bag you get you purchases in!

I attached the flowers to the tag with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then punched the center of the flower from the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper and put a clear button on top and threaded it with linen thread. I also attached the button with Stampin' Dimensionals. Lastly, I folded over the bag and punched two holes with the crop-a-dile and then added the wide grosgrain ribbon. I just attached the tag to the bag with adhesives. The best part of this make and take it actually uses 3 of the Sale-a-bration products you can earn for free!

Beautiful Butterfly with Afternoon Tea

I decided to pull out the retired Afternoon Tea designer series paper for this gift card and gift bag combo. The card I took a piece of the retired Groovy Guava. I attached a strip of Afternoon Tea on top of the Whisper White and then ran both through the Big Shot with the Clear Circle Sizzex die cut. Once I did all that that is when I attached the designer series paper to the gift bag with sticky strip so the strip stayed attached and didn't fall off. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone! I am not having a good day with my camera today. I have a feeling after 5 years it’s not going to make it. So this morning’s color challenge post I took a picture with my camera phone. Not a bad photo if I say so myself. I wanted to post this week’s color challenge today since it is anything GREEN in honor of St. Patrick’s Day!

So here is the card in Kiwi Kiss. I started with the new designer series paper that is coming in the Occasions Mini, called Walk in the Park. I die cut an Oval with Ovals Sizzex die. I then stamped the tree from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set. Then I added a Kiwi Kiss button with linen thread. Next I stamped the greeting from the On Your Birthday stamp set I punched a hole with my crop-a-dile and then threaded a piece of Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon. When I tied the knot, I moved the ribbon so it covers up the hole made with crop-a-dile. Lastly, I put an eyelet border on the bottom of the card.

I have to say I have had some busy stamping weekends lately hence the lag in posts. Here is my little cousin and friend that came by to do some stamping projects. Here is just two of the many projects that the girls made. The first one was a post it note memo board. It started with a coaster from American Coaster that was covered with Delicate Dots designer series paper. I then made a chipboard butterfly with by covering another coaster with another sheet of designer paper and die cutting it with the Big Shot with the Beautiful Butterflies die. I put a 5/16 silver brad through the center. I attached it to a big paper clip with a big glue dot. Next came a retired chipboard accent that I had left over. I covered it with certainly celery craft ink. I then stamped the word imagine from the Everyday Flexible Phrases stamp set. I then put a Ice Rhinestone Brad in the center. On the bottom I tied a piece of Certainly Celery wide ribbon.

Then we made another chipboard butterfly and put a button in the center. This one I had adhesive with a clip that was able to turn the butterfly into a pin.

This week's Inkredible color challenge

Here is this week's Inkredible color challenge, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, More Mustard and Old Olive. They come straight from the Flower Power Card Elements. I just love this color combo. I decided to make a mini photo brag album. I used my Sizzex Tags Scallop Combo #2 that I got in Michael's to die cut the tag layers. The top and the bottom I covered a piece of chipboard in order to make the back and front covers more sturdy. The top layer I used the retired More Mustard Patterns designer series paper, the rest of the layers I just used the More Mustard card stock. The top layer I also added a strip of Rose Red and another strip of More Mustard designer paper. Next came the perfect plum die cut flower from the Flower Layer with Leaf die cut that I also ran through with the Texturz plates to get the embossed polka dots. I then layered the flower with the Flower Fusion and Fire Circle Rhinestone. I then added the leaf and the greeting from the Celebrate Everything stamp set. I adhered the flower and leaf to the tag album with Stampin' Dimensionals to make them pop. I then put a ring holder through the booklet and tied some old olive wide grosgrain ribbon. I just love this springy little album. I can't wait to put photos in it so I show them off in my brag album. The best part about this size is that I can print out wallet photos on my printer and then just trim them to put in the album.

Inkredible Challenge

This week's challenge was to open up the Stampin' Up! catalog and flip through the catalog and stop on a random page. Pick a project from that page. Now, you need to make the same project but different. What does this mean, you ask?... You can use the sketch with different stamps and colors. or just swap out the colors, but make the project the same as shown. You can also just use the same colors or stamps on your chosen project. So I my project is the scrap page on page 124. (see below for the picture out of the catalog.) The page in the book was an 8x8 but I decided to make an 8 1/2 x11 which left me a little more room for embellishments so it looks slightly different.

So here is my scrapbook page of my nephew on his 1st birthday. I just love this picture of him. I pulled out the retired Creative License scrappin' kit and the Take Note rub-ons. The limited edition and the white cirlce on the bottom come from the rubons. The rest of the paper and the self-adhseive die cuts come from the kit. The only other thing I used was the Wild Wasabi prints designer series paper to make the pocket. I folded over the paper from all three sides to make the pocket and then used my 1" punch to make the opening. The insert, I punched a round tab punch and put a 5/18" silver brad in the center. I also punched two stars with my large and small star punches to put on the page. I also made the one with my On Board Timeless Type chipboard. I sponged on some Blue Bayou ink.

Sale-a-bration Scrapping

I am lovin' the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper and Polka Dot Punches stamp set. Here is a scrapbook page I made featuring my little niece Julie. I started with the Bashful blue paper from the paper pack and paired it up with the Regal Rose color. I love the color combo. It's been so long since I worked with such cheerful colors. It's been a long winter and it was so nice to see such happy colors. I decided to pull out my new Circle cutter and made two circle outlines. Next came the title. I stamped the a-p-p-y with my Schoolbook Serif stamp set and punched it out with my 1 3/4" circle punch. Next came the Serif Essentials H die cut with my Big Shot. I put the H inside a circle I cut out with the Circle cutter. Next came the flowers from the Polka Dot Punches. I stamped them and cut them out. The large flower I punched out with my Scallop Circle. Next I die cut the outside of the flowers. The large flower comes from the Sizzex Flower Layers w/ Leaf and the little flowers are from the Stampin' Up! Birds and Blooms Sizzlets. I attached the stamped images on top of the die cut images and then put half back pearls for the centers. I punched 1 3/4" circle of Regal Rose and adhered them to the side of the page. Next, I adhered some 1" double-stitched grosgrain ribbon. I made a tailored bow and added on top of the ribbon. Next, came the label I die cut with my Stampin' Up Lots of Tags sizzlet which I did a little journaling in. The last touch to the page was small strip of regal rose that I cut and added to the left hand side of the page.

More Sale-a-bration

Here is the Polka Dot Punches along side the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper Pack that you can earn for free with a 50$ purchase. I started with flowers that I stamped in Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Bashful Blue. Two of the flowers I was able to use our punches to punch them out, the 5 petal flower and the scallop circle punch. The smallest one I had to cut out. I put a silver brad through the center and attached the flowers to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then strips of Whisper White, Bashful blue, the designer series paper and scallop eyelet border were laid down. The greeting comes from the flight of the butterfly stamp set. The finishing touch was the bashful blue grosgrain ribbon.
