Happy 1st Birthday Michael

Today is nephew's first birthday. Here are two birthday cards I made for his special day. The first one I stamped the word one with the Schoolbook Serif alphabet, then the look who's talking came from the On Your birthday stamp set. I stamped the bottom of the cupcake from teh Big Bold Birthday. I then stamped the cupcake top and cut it out. I turned it over so I had the clean white side and I put brads in for sprinkles. I attached them to the card with dimensionals. The I stamped the candle and cut it out and adhered under the cupcake frosting. The designer paper is Rainbow Sherbert. Turquoise grosgrain ribbon and a scallop edge finish the card.

The second card I took out my chipboard one from one of the retired chipboard sets. I sponged on some chocolate chip craft ink. I then stamped some of the animals from the Wild About You stamp set. Then I stamped the greeting again from the On Your Birthday stamp set. Next, I didn't have a large circle cutter, so I borrowed my friend Colleen's CM circle cutter. With the large circle, I then took my 1" circle punch, punched the little circles and placed them underneath the circle. I layed the circle on a piece of retired Apricot Appeal Prints Designer Paper. A strip of chocolate chip and two chocolate buttons finish the card off.
Happy Birthday Michael!

Color Challenge for this week

Here is a card I made for the color challenge and for my friend Kathy that just got a new job. I am going to miss seeing her everyday. The colors are Basic Grey and Pink Pirouette. I started with the Patterns Pink Pirouette designer series paper that I cut a window with my large oval punch. I adhered the paper to the pink pirouette card stock and then re-punched the whole. One thing I learned is not to try to punch through more than one layer of card stock. It just doesn't work. Next came the butterfly from the Priceless stamp set. The greeting comes from a retired stamp set, Cute Converse. Then came strips of Basic Grey and Pink Pirouette on the left. On the right a scallop edge was punched out. The finishing touch was the Filiegree brads with Pretty in Pink brads in the center.

Make sure to check out the following links for more ideas using the color combos of the week from our color girls: Colleen, Debbie, Lorraine, Kelly, Traci and Tracy.

Homemade Sympathy Card

Here is a homemade sympathy card I made. I started with the Upsy Daisy stamp set and colored in the flowers with my Stampin' Write Markers. I then punched out the image with my large oval punch. Next I made a scallop edge. I then put retired Patterns designer series paper down. I adhered a strip of white taffeta ribbon. Then I made a tailored bow and put it on top of the strip of taffeta. I stamped the greeting from a retired Just So Sayings stamp set. The finishing touch was the halfback pearls I attached to the card with mini glue dots and a strip of white card stock on the bottom.

Flight of the Butterfly

Here is a card made with the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. I stamped butterflies in Bashful Blue and then stamped the Outline in Basic Black as well as the greeting trail. I stamped one of the butterflies and popped it up with a Stampin' Dimensional. I then cut a circle with my coluzzle and attached it on top of black scallop circle made with my Big Shot. Lastly, I layered it on top of retired Prints Bashful Blue paper. The finishing touches was the black strip of paper and two black brads.

Happy 40th Birthday

I have had quite a few milestone birthdays. I using up all my chipboard numbers!!! Forget about the Zero's they are all gone, so I have had to become inventive with the zeros's. Here I took a circle chipboard and put a piece of white card stock I punched out in the center. I colored the chipboard with my chocolate chip craft pad. I stamped the word happy from an old retired Sale-a-bration set, So Very. Little stars punched with vintage brads in the center were added to the card. Strips of Chocolate chip and Chocolate Chip patterns cards stock were then added. The finishing touch was the wide chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon.

Musical Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card for the music lover in your life. I stamped he Happy Birthday from the Think Happy Thoughts stamp set. The musical quote, I took from a retired stamp set called I love music. I layered the images on circle punches and the scallop circle. The front of the card I used Baha Breeze Patterns designer series paper. I then made a window by punching the scallop first through Baha Breeze card stock on the bottom layer and then the through the top layer of designer series paper. Punching through two layers of card stock really doesn't work very well. The finishing touches was the real red wide grosgrain ribbon, 2 buttons and strips of real red on the side.

Upsy Daisy Birthday Card

Here is a super easy homemade birthday card. I stamped the Upsy Daisy image and punched it out with my Paper Shapers 2 3/4" circle punch. Then with the Scallop #2 die cut I made the black scallop circle. I layered it on top of Baha Breeze Patterns Designer Series Paper. The finishing touches were the strip of basic black and two black buttons.

Save the Date

My little sister is getting married in September. So I have been busy making Save the date cards for the big day. I wanted them to be something someone can post on the fridge but it would be sturdy that would not fall apart before the big day. So I decided to make a project that would be adhered to a 4x4 chipboard coaster purchased from American Coasters and I put a strip of magnet to the back of the coaster. The poem on the coaster comes from an old song that I changed the words a little to include the place that they met. I punched out the poem with my 2 3/4" circle punch from Paper Shapers. The brushed gold card stock I cut out with my Coluzzle. I have to say after making over 100 of these my Coluzzle didn't make it. It broke can I tell you how happy I am we are getting a new circle cutter! Then some Brushed Gold and Bravo Burgundy card stock was adhered on top of Very Vanilla that I rounded the edges with my corner rounder. The leaf punch comes from Martha Stewart. I punched the leaves and attached them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The finishing touch was two gold brads. There will be more projects as we get closer to the date. I am just happy to be finished with the first project!

Check this out!

A fellow demonstrator and friend of mine is getting married in March and she just finished up her wedding invitations. I have to say they are the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Take a minute and check out the following link. I have never seen anything quite like this.

This Week's Color Challenge

Since I was a little behind, I decided to post this week's color challenge today as well. It is a similar style card. This week's colors are Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand. So again the 1 3/8" square punch came out. I punched Patterns designer series paper. The Old Olive paper comes from the Summer Picnic designer series paper. I layered the squares on top of Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip card stock. Next I pulled out my Toy Box stamp set again this time I stamped the mitt from the set on to Sahara Sand card stock and punched it out with 1 1/4" circle punch. I then stamped the mitt again and cut out the baseball from the image. I popped up the ball with a Stampin' Dimensional. Next I punched out a star and put a vintage brad through the center. I stamped the greeting from the Celebrate Everything stamp set. I then stamped the Time to from the set onto Vanilla card stock and punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch. The finishing touch was a strip of chocolate chip card stock and some chocolate chip polytwill ribbon I had left over.

Last Week's Color Challenge

It was a crazy week last week, too much happening. So here is this week's color challenge a little late. Sorry Colleen! The color's last week were Baha Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Kiwi Kiss. So here I took out my 1 3/8" square punch and punched out some Patterns designer paper in all three colors. I placed the squares on top of a white and Not quite Navy card stock. Next I took out my retired Toy Box stamp set. I stamped the frog from the set on to watercolor paper and colored him in with blender pens and Kiwi Kiss ink refill and then punched him out with 1 1/4" circle punch. Next I stamped the greeting from the On Your Birthday stamp set and punched it out with the small oval punch and framed it with our Styled Silver Hodgepodge. Next came the covering the chipboard 5 with Not Quite Navy and sanding it down when I was done. Strips of Not Quite Navy and Kiwi Kiss Button Bouquet finish the card off.

Mr Twigster and Frosty Day

I figured with the temperature in the single digits here in NJ, Mr. Twigster and Frosty Day would be appropriate. here I started with Mr. Twigster in a small box I cut out and layered on a scallop square. Then more layers of Frosty Day designer paper and Chocoloate Chip. There is a strip of Chocolate Chip on the side of the card and scallop edge. The finishing touch was the wide chocolate chip grosgrain adhered to the designer series paper and with a bow tied with a mini glue dot as well as two buttons. Only a few more days left to get this wonderful set and paper!!

Baby Bib Scallop Card

I just found a good friend of mine is having a baby!! Here is a card I made with the Scallop die cut. I folded a piece of white card stock in half, I put the card stock in my Big Shot. Leaving some of the scallop die uncovered near the top allowed for the scallop to be cut for the bib part, but it also left some of the card fold intact which allows the project to be a card. The next thing I did was pull out my 1 1/4" circle punch and punch a part of the folded top for the bib opening. Next I pulled out my Coluzzle and cut out a piece of So Saffron prints designer series paper that I had left over. The little bird was stamped from the Nursery Necessities stamp set. It was punched and layered on my Scallop Square. Then I attached two eyelets with my crop a dile and lastly threaded white grosgrain ribbon and tied knots at the end.

Sympathy Card

Here is a sympathy card I had to make. It uses the Upsy Daisy stamp set that I colored in with my Stampin' Write Markers, Pretty in Pink and Mellow Moss. I cut the circle out with my Coluzzle and adhered it to a Scallop die cut I made with my Big Shot. I laid the image onto of Kraft Patterns Designer Series Paper. The bottom of the card, I put a strip of Whisper White and small strip of Kraft. On top of the Kraft, I paper piereced. The finishing touch was the two Pink Pirouette Buttons and the 1 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.

Brocade Basics

Well I have to say this is one set I am going to be sad to see leave. It just so beautiful. The set is Brocade Basics. On both cards I stamped it with Old Olive the stem and leaves. Then the flower petals were stamped in Eggplant Envy and then the second card was done in Regal Rose. The greeting comes from the Sincere Salutations stamp set. The first card the finishing touch was the Eggplant Envy grosgrain ribbon and the scallop edge. The second card a regal rose wide grosgrain ribbon was tied. A simple, but elegant card that was made in minutes.

Pretties Challenge

I was just challenged by my group to use the Pretties. I have to say I love using the pretties on cards and pages. They are just so beautiful. Here I colored in the Inspired By Nature stamp set with my Stampin' Write Markers, Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss and Creamy Caramel. The flower petals came in a little streaky when I stamped it the first time. To remove the streaks I used my sponge daubers and just dabbed the leaf petals and the centers and that fixed the petals beautifully. I added the image on top Mellow Moss card stock and then on top of the Pink Pirouette designer paper. I tied a knot with the 1 1/4" Pink Pirouette grosgrain ribbon. I then put a pretties hat pin through and added some clear tear drops and pearls. I stamped the greeting from the On Your Birthday stamp set. The scallop edge finishes the card off. This card is going out to my cousin Barb for her birthday. Unfortunately, it should have been in the mail today, since her birthday is today. I guess one day late is not too bad. Happy Birthday Barb if you happen to visit my blog today.

First Birthday Invitations

I can't believe my nephew is turning one in a couple of weeks. Here is the homemade birthday invitation I made for his special celebration. I started with the Scallop die cut. I printed the invitation on my computer and then cut it out with my Coluzzle. Next came the image from Big Bold Birthday. I stamped the bottom of the cupcake and the candle in Tempting Turquoise. For the frosting, I cut a scallop circle of the Rainbow Sherbert designer paper and cut in half. I then attached the "frosting" with dimensionals. Lastly a turquoise grosgrain bow was attached to the top of the invite with a mini glue dot.

I popped up the heart with Stampin' Dimensionals. Next came layes of Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip card stock. Color Challenge for this Week

I am just making it for this week's color challenge. This week's colors are Real Red, Basic Black, Silver or Gold. Well I decided to go with the Silver for my card. I have to say the black on this card is very minimal and I needed to color in the stem, so there is another color to this combo. I used the Love You Much stamp set. I stamped in black and colored in the letters and the stem with my Stampin' Write Markers. I then punched the flower from the Trio Flower and put a silver brad through the center. I layered it on top of real red and silver card stock. The background of the card was Real Red Patterns designer series paper. I then made a scallop edge with my punch and put a strip of whisper white. The finishing touch was the Filgree brad.
